Shortlisted!

I’m thrilled and honored and humbled to be shortlisted for the Yan-Kit So Award from the Oxford Cultural Collective.

I’m working on something, inspired by my father’s childhood memories, immigrant experience and travels— coupled together with my own food memories (a bike ride to Uyghur food as a teen in Beijing in 1998 is a standout), and some serious historical and cultural research (duh: I am technically a China scholar and international trade lawyer 😳).

This award will get me a bit closer to realization of this project. Baku to Beijing, baby. I’m just over the moon.
