#CookForUkraine

Well, Walthamstow— we did it. We cooked for Ukraine. 

Together we raised just over £8500 ($11,100)💪🇺🇦💪at our Thomas Gamuel Park pop-up cafe and bake-sale last Sunday. 

I wish I had something profound or insightful to say. But I don’t. We are in shock and disbelief and pain as a community, and all just want to help as best as we can. For some, that’s protesting. For others, it’s writing letters, signing petitions or donating money, food, diapers and medicine. And last week, for us, it was cooking and baking and buying and eating. 

Thank you to @today_bread and @kelly_nadjarian for your generosity and delicious cookies. Thank you to @oliahercules for your recipes, strength and inspiration, and thank you @alissatimoshkina and @cookforukraine  and @clerkenwellboyec1 for your continuing efforts to support Ukraine. 

But thanks, most of all, to our kind and generous Walthamstow community. For baking and cooking and eating and buying— and for supporting Ukraine.
