Crumpets
What about all the good things about lockdown? The Zoom quiz nights with friends. The virtual cheese tastings. The doorstep photographers. The front garden tea breaks. Theo taking his first steps to Ed because he was at home and not in the office. It wasn’t all terrifying and Tiger King. There were some upsides. Like these guys: these incredible crumpets I would likely never haven eaten had if not been for lockdown.
@jonescrumpets . Delivered straight to my door. First in a grocery order from @lafromagerieuk (another thing that we wouldn’t have had if not for lockdown— pretty sure they biked over our crumpets and fresh ricotta and Italian tomatoes and Essex aspargus from Highbury and that’s definitely not still happening). And then directly from Ian himself. Over and over. And then again when I finally saw my mother for the first time post-vaccine for her birthday and Thanksgiving. And then again when she came this past November.
They are insane. They are incredible. You should all order some now. Truly. And then slather them either in @halenmon ‘s salted honey butter, or in @fenfarmdairy ‘s raw Bungay Butter. You’re welcome.
The most delicious #crumpets for @thegfw today.
