Gnocchi

While everyone last spring was busy with their sourdoughs and banana breads, I decided that lockdown would be a great time to try gnocchi from scratch.

I had tried a few different veg boxes (@palegreendot @osolocal2u ) because it was near impossible to get an Ocado slot, and I had potatoes COMING OUT OF MY EARS. Seriously: you Brits love a spud, wtf?! 🥔

I made baked potatoes. I made hashbrowns. Home-fries. Rosti. Roast potatoes. It was just way too much. So. Many. Potatoes. And then, boom! 💡! I decided I would make gnocchi— it couldn’t be that hard, right? Right?? WRONG.

It’s possible I’ve never had such a cooking disaster as I had with my lockdown gnocchi. And I vowed to never try that again. And I haven’t. And I haven’t had gnocchi since that disaster (I mean— even calling what I made “gnocchi” is really a stretch 🤪) until yesterday.

This time I (smartly) picked up some prepackaged gnocchi from @eat17stores, husband nabbed some buratta from @eatalylondon, and we put those together with some confit garlic and @iowtomatoes. It was delicious. And not at all a disaster. And I am still never making gnocchi from scratch again.
