Day 10: October 2022

It’s been a long week. Christmas has come and gone. I’m days behind on my #12daysofdeliciousness There’s just been a lot…as there is for so many this time of year. Plus Theo gave me his chest-rattling, crazy painful cough to boot 💨

Here is October, though. Spaghetti with the OG Marcella Hazan tomato sauce. Cooked upon request one evening for a little boy who told me “I like noodles with tomato sauce- noodles I can twirl. I had them on the beach with Papan.” And he was correct.

Four months earlier, he devoured a plate of spaghetti, shirtless, in Liguria, Mediterranean behind him, with his grandfather. I like to hope he’ll carry that memory with him for years…but if not, he’ll always have my noodles with tomato sauce—because he requests this on the reg now. 🍝
