Day 11: November 2022

Apparently the 12 days of Christmas don’t start until Christmas Day. I guess I knew that — 12th Night being Jan. 6 and Epihpany and all that— but by the time Dec. 26 rolls around, I’m typically all Christmas’ed out and certainly in no mood for 12 more days of it, no matter how many lords there are a-leaping. 🐸 But this year, I’m taking it as a free pass— the #12daysofchristmas aren’t over yet and my #12daysofdeliciousness countdown isn’t quite finished either!

November 2022. The best of the month. And possibly / definitely one of the best of the entire year. 🏆

An Iranian feast in the Cotswolds. Venison. Quince. Split peas. Turmeric. Spinach. Prunes. Onions. Saffron. Rice. Spinach. Eggs. Heaven on a table. 🇮🇷

Seasonal, autumnal British bounty cooked in a most un-British way, and enjoyed in a stone cottage in the Cotswolds, on a British day of “celebration.” My food, my heritage, my friends, my family. ❤️

(Side note: why memorialize the would-be terrorist on Gay Fawkes Day/Bonfire Night? It always strikes me— I mean, we don’t refer to 9/11 as “Bin Laden Day” and frankly that dude was far more successful than Guy…).
