Best of May 2023.

Cinco de Coronation Mole Rojo. HANDS DOWN.

I mean— I’m still not so thrilled by the idea of one day pledging allegiance to a 🤴 (if I decide to go for full UK citizenship, which I probably will because I want to vote 🗳️), but, 10 years on, and I still miss a good Cinco de Mayo celebration. And we all know I love a good party and I really love to host a good party. The moment I heard the coronation was Cinco de Mayo weekend, I was on it. Party time! Excellent!

Plus, I had never made a mole and always wanted to. So I did. And it was incredible and I will never not love the memory of my dear friend Garth, standing in my kitchen, off his head, dipping pieces of cold tortilla into the lukewarm leftover mole sauce, or my friend Marina’s Argentinian father clasping both sides of my face and exclaiming in Spanish how delicious it all was, especially the mole.

¡Olé, olé, cinco de coronation mole! How about I just pledge my allegiance to that? 💃 💃 💃
